Ch. Tour de Boisset belongs to Marc Lurton, related to the biggest wine dynasty in the world. In 2013, Marc Lurton started converting to biological farming, parcel by parcel. Millésime 2015 was the first ‘AB’ biological certified wine.
Marc Lurton – an oenologist who graduated from the university of Bordeaux – manages the family domains with his wife Agnes since 1996. Recently, one of his daughters Pauline joined them, she represents the 6th generation.
The vineyard is situated on the heights of l’Entre-deux-mers, 10 km from Saint Emilion. The unique thing is that it has a quarry that made it possible to build an underground house. Now it is used for ageing the red wine in oak barrels. The quality of the red grapes is a direct result of the good care of the vines. A meticulous selection of the harvest (vintages and parcels are vinified separately). Classic Bordeaux vinification: destemming, fermentation between 25 and 30°. Maceration of 3 to 4 weeks to obtain more complexity, malolactic fermentation.
The vines are grown in biological farming Agrocert certified, as well as AREA certified, equal to level 2 of the High Environmental Value HVE certification. In transition to HVE3 and Vegan certification.
