New ranking St. Emilion

Last year we heard the news that Ch. Cheval Blanc and Ch. Ausone will no longer participate in the new ranking of St. Emilion.

Now that Ch. Angélus is also leaving the ranking of St. Emilion, Ch. Pavie is the only one to stand at the top of the ranking as St. Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classé A. The reason for this decision is said to be a fine that Hubert de Bouard has had to pay after 10 years of trial for 'participation in professional authorities’, because of which he is blamed to be biased. The de Bouard family is of the opinion that the benefits of participating in this ranking do not outweigh the risks of subsequent procedures about unjustified doubts.

The de Bouard de Laforest family (as the 8th generation) wants to concentrate more than ever on producing great wines that can be stored for centuries, which are a reflection of their appellation and terroir and of the vintage. Angélus wants to make the St. Emilion region and the greatness of the Bordeaux wines shine worldwide!
