Saint Emilion Grand Cru
Ch. Croix Cardinale is not a second wine but a
chateau on its own, situated next to Ch. Fleur Cardinale. The vines are on
average 40 years old and the soil consists of mainly clay, more than on Ch.
Fleur Cardinale. The vineyard is made of one piece. The techniques that are
used to vinify the wine are similar to those of Ch. Fleur Cardinale: careful
maintenance of the vineyard, manual harvesting in small crates, waiting from
harvest to optimum ripeness, selections by a selection machine and vinification
in 100% new oak barrels. The wine is opulent, rich and moderate in tannins with
a voluminous black fruit aroma.
