2016Château Doisy Daëne(White)

This Premier Grand Cru Classé once belonged to the Lur Saluces family (like Ch. Fargues en Ch. d'Yquem). Mr. Philippe Baly and his brother Dominique (from Alsace) are now the owners of the estate, bought by their father in 1977. The duo is assisted by the society ‘Domaines Philippe de Rothschild’ (Ch. Mouton Rothschild) for technical and commercial aspects and also for the distribution. Together with Climens, Ch. Coutet is one of the biggest Barsac wines thanks to its terroir of lime in combination with oxidized iron which gives the soil a ‘red’ soil. This gives the wine more subtlety and nervousness compared to close neighbours and compared to the same sugar percentage. The chateau has bought some parcels in 2014 which were part of the chateau in 1893.
