Saint Emilion - Saint Emilion Gr Cru Classe
Alcohol 15,0 %
This small cru of 3.65ha belongs to Gerard Perse since 1997, he also owns Ch. Pavie. The vineyard of Ch. Pavie Décesse is situated on top of the lime plateau of St. Emilion and has a clay-lime layer under the lime layer. The cru has known a remarkable quality improvement since 1997 thanks to an application of the green harvest, leaf removal, second removal, manual harvest, selections and very low yields (18hl/ha). The wine is luxuriously ripened on 100% new oak barrels. Ch. Pavie Décesse is a real beauty that requires at least 5 years of rest and has a storage potential of 20 years. For those who finds Ch. Pavie too expensive, we offer an equal alternative for half its price! The cru was promoted from St. Emilion Grand Cru to a St. Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classé in 2012 because of its consistently high quality of the last 10 years.
