Ch. L’Evangile
belongs to the group Domaines de Barons Rothschild since 1999, which also owns
Ch. Lafite Rothschild. Ch. L’Evangile’s terroir is of very high quality and is
situated between Ch. Pétrus and Ch. Cheval Blanc. Since the takeover, the
restructuring of the vineyard and the vinification system has brought the cru to
the highest quality level. To me, it takes the lead amongst Pomerols,
qualitatively next to Ch. L’Eglise
CLinet, Ch. Clinet, Ch. Fleur de Gay, Vieux Ch. Certan, Ch. La Conseillante, Ch. Hosanna and Ch.
Trotanoy. Very low yields 25hl/ha and a very fine parcel vinification (20
cuvees of 4000hl to 80.000hl) allow to make a magnificent and deep wine.
