Ch. Figeac has been a
reference at St. Emilion for many years and was in hands of Thierry de
Manoncourt. Unfortunately, he died in August 2010. His daughter Laure and
son-in-law Eric d’Aramon continue Mr Manoncourt’s business since. Since the new
ranking of St. Emilion, where Ch. Figeac was not promoted to Premier Grand Cru
Classé A (instead of B), sir d’Aramon was fired by widow Manoncourt and her four
daughters. A new director (Frédéric Faye), an extra manager (Jean-Valmy Nicolas,
co-owner of Ch. La Conseillante) and the advice of Michel Rolland visibly improved
the image of the cru.
