After years of being in hands of Mr Chantal
Lebreton (same owner as Ch. La Croix de Gay and Ch. La Fleur de Gay in
Pomerol), this chateau went to the négociant 'Crus et Domaines de France', one
of the biggest French wine traders. The vineyard has always been perfectly
maintained and the vines (very old merlots) always deliver a very intense
Montagne St. Emilion, which is absolutely the best of the appellation. The
vineyard has one parcel of 12ha with a clay-lime soil on a hilly terroir next
to St. Emilion and Pomerol. The new owner recruited Michel Rolland as the
advisor. This wine ripens for 12 months on new oak barrels and has a storage
potential of 10 years.
