Saint Emilion - Saint Emilion Gr Cru Classe
Alcohol 13,5 %
This property of 27ha has belonged to the Meslin family for more than a decade. Currently, Guy Meslin takes care of this cru with passion and dedication as if it were his own child. The terroir is situated at the foot of the slopes in the east of St. Emilion and contains soils of old sand and clay. The wines are not so bombastic as the greatest wines of the appellation, but still excel in their elegance and delicacy. Mr Meslin was one of the first that put the selection of the berries in a bath of water, where the ripe berries (which weigh more) sink and the unripe berries float. These are removed so that only the most beautiful berries remain in the wine. The mechanism and the manual selection brings a very qualitative wine with a pure taste. The chateau is advised by Mr. Hubert de Bouard (Ch. Angélus).
