Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classé
This cru belongs to the Moueix family (Jean and
Adèle) since 1931. Alain Moueix has the lead since 2001, he is chairman of the
‘Association de Grands Crus Classés’ of St. Emilion. The one-piece vineyard of
17.6ha has a plateau and a slope in the west of St. Emilion. Since the coming
of Alain Moueix, the entire vineyard has switched to biodynamics. It became the
first Grand Cru Classé that received a certificate for this. The replanting of
the removed old vines in 2001 now begins to bear its fruits. The youngest
millésimes show more intensity. The style is based on finesse and delicacy in
combination with a very good intensity of the fine fruits.
