This small top cru
(4.50ha) has international fame and is as rare as Ch. Pétrus. Sylvie and
Jacques Guinaudeau vinify the wine since 1985. First as renters and from 2002
as owners together with their kids. On the vineyard we see 4 different types of
soil (clay, clay-gravel, sand-gravel and sand-clay) this allows to use two
different types of grapes (cabernet franc on the gravel terroir and merlot on
the clay terroir). This contributes to the extreme complexity and minerality of
Ch. Lafleur. With its 50% of cabernet franc, the wine is unique in Pomerol.
This explains the worldwide demand for this exclusive wine with original
character and taste.
