Médoc - Margaux
Alcohol 13,8 %
Since 2006, this cru has belonged of the British businessman Simon Halibi. His contribution to the improvement of the quality of this cru has been significant. However, in 2019, Simon Halibi sold this exquisite pearl from Margaux to the French Le Lou family (a producer of health care products). In cooperation with director José Sanfins, essential investments took place to improve the quality. Nowadays, the vineyard is approximately 48ha with a parc of 20ha around the château. The terroir consists of 3 parcels « plateau, l’enclos and bengueyre », a sequence of ridges with gravel depositions from the Gironde, water drainage whereby the roots of the grapes have to dig deep to be able to feed themselves, which by consequence results in excellent fruit impressions. The wines from this château are simultaneously very voluminous and elegant, which is a trademark of the Margaux appellation. The château values the preservation of the surroundings. 95 people harvest everything manually parcel by parcel according to the maturity. Moreover, the newest techniques are used in the wine cellars to raise the quality of the wine to its highest possible level.
