Lalande Pomerol
Alcohol 0,0 %
This is another cru of the well-known Denis Durantou, also owner of Ch. L’Eglise Clinet at Pomerol. He also makes another Lalande Pomerol (see Ch. Les Cruzelles) that comes from a clay-gravel soil and has more power, volume and structure. La Chenade’s assembly has a bit more cabernet franc because the terroir consists of more gravel and sand. The result is a fine, elegant wine that ripens for 30% on new oak barrels to keep the splendid fruits.
Unfortunately, vintage 2019 was the last vintage
vinified by the talented Denis Durantou. Midway May 2020, Sir Durantou passed
away due to an aggressive disease.
