In the Fronsac
region, a few chateaus are seriously taking on. Their quality levels increase
throughout every year. Ch. Moulin Haut Laroque is one of these top chateaus
that can compete with a good St. Emilion Grand Cru Classé! The chateau has been
the property of the Hervé family’s history. The first bottling took place in 1890!
The harvest is done manually, the transport of the grapes in small cases, 3
sorting tables and 100% movement by gravity (which means no pumps that cause
stress to the wine), all these aspects contribute to top quality! The wine
ripens on 35% new oak barrels every year, the rest on 2-year old barrels.
Thomas Hervé, the son of Jean-Noël and Dominique Hervé currently has the
leadership since 2012 and tries to consolidate the good reputation of the cru.
The property has 16ha in the council of Saillans, the highest plateau of the
Fronsac where are located only the best!
