Clos Lunelles has a
magnificent terroir in Saint-Colombe, the highest point of the Castillon
region. It has similar soil characteristics as in St. Emilion. They are
situated in line with each other. The estate is situated only a few kilometers away
from Ch. Pavie in St. Emilion in bird’s-eye view. Ch. Pavie is vinified by the
same owner. Very low yields (22hl/ha), green harvest, double leaf removal, 80%
new oak barrels and 20% one-year barrels… All these interventions make a
quality wine that can compete with several St. Emilion Grand Cru Classés. In
blind wine tastings, this would be an absolute taste-catcher.
